Having spent 3 days trying to find any accommodation in any resort in Switzerland having had our trip to France covid cancelled I came across the Eringer. A look on Google maps showed a field so I initially assumed a scam. But no. A call to the hotel and a bit of internet research proved otherwise. With 2 days before departing I booked a room for me and my 16 year old son. The staff on reception couldn’t have been more helpful. On arrival we struggled to find the parking but found it after a few wrong turns. The parking area and underground floors were definitely still a work in progress. The rest of the hotel (aside the unfinished Spa) is amazing. The bar and reception area is stunning. All of the staff couldn’t be more helpful and the director worked tirelessly with the team to iron out the inevitable early niggles. Lots of things will no doubt improve (more hooks in the room etc) as the hotel is finished. The outdoor deck bar will also be potentially amazing but wasn’t open yet. I joke that it isn’t ski in / out but the 14 steps isn’t exactly a trial! Plans are afoot to make it ski in / out to the door. This hotel in Verbier would cost a small fortune but in this lesser known valley, it is affordable and the Verbier skiing 4 lifts away. The rooms are fine and functional. No bath in most rooms which some may miss after a long days skiing. Amazing views on one side so worth requesting a valley view. The only minor downsides:- is it is a quiet area of the village with only 2 other restaurants in walking distance (5- 10 mins or so) which were fully booked every night (both are also excellent) and an adequate supermarket about the same distance…. And:- Ski rental shops are not close, so a drive or bus is needed to sort. But collapsing in the bar next to the fire, moving one floor to the restaurant for a basic spaghetti bolognese or excellent 3 course meal and then taking the lift to your room is very relaxing and convenient. Would definitely recommend for all different groups of travellers. All age groups were there from toddlers to teens, and numerous dogs… and everyone we spoke to enjoyed their stay.
